Escape Room Live Announces Georgetown Grand Opening

Washington, DC – Georgetown’s race-against-the-clock live puzzle game is now fully open for business. Escape Room Live, the challenging interactive experience that includes six individually themed game rooms with live action CGI effects, announced today their grand opening at 3345 M Street, NW, which includes a full bar so participants can enjoy a drink before and after their game. Escape Room Live and its bar venue are available for private parties, making it a unique option for bachelor or bachelorette parties, office gatherings, birthdays, or a fun evening with friends. Unlike any other escape room experience, Georgetown’s Escape Room Live offers authentic, movie-themed rooms based on classics like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Titanic and Curse of the Mummy. In promotion of the release of the movies Ghostbusters and Friday the 13th, Escape Room Live is also offering limited runs of these themes at the new M Street location. In July, EastBanc, Inc. and Jamestown LP secured a long-term lease for Escape Room Live as part of its Georgetown Renaissance retail real estate portfolio.

Escape Room Live, just as it name boasts, is a live game in which participants are locked inside a themed room with 45 minutes to find and decipher clues that will help them figure their way out. With only a few hints, the group must use their wits, ingenuity and teamwork to complete the challenge and “escape the room.”

The new Escape Room Live Georgetown space immerses players in the theme of the room using life-like props, CGI, sound and lighting effects. In the Ghostbusters room, players have to “trap” ghosts that appear through CGI, and in the Titanic room, the door has a porthole timer where the water level viewed through the porthole gradually gets higher as time passes and, at 45 minutes, will appear to crack the window with the water appearing to pour in.

Escape Room Live Georgetown is open Wednesday – Sunday with extended hours on weekends. Interested guests are able to book an escape room session on the Escape Room Live website at www.escaperoomlive.com and get a sneak peek of the rooms with a photo gallery and virtual reality tours. The lounge area is open for Escape Room patrons during all operating hours, however drinks are not allowed in the game rooms.

Escape Room Live is an interactive and exciting new entertainment concept, with locations in Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC. Groups ranging from two to 12 people work together to solve problems and uncover clues in order to escape the room. A “Game Master” watching the room via camera briefs the participants on the storyline.
