'Escape Room Live' Coming to Georgetown With Ghostbusters, Titanic Themes

The popular concept will be coming to a space right on M Street soon.

If you enjoy being locked in a room and forced to solve puzzles to get out, Escape Room Live in Georgetown may be just the ticket. The entertainment concept company has just signed a lease for a 6,000-plus square foot location at 3345 M Street NW, right at the end of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

At Escape Room Live, visitors have to work their way out of a locked room by solve puzzles and piecing together clues. Ginger Flesher-Sonier of Loudoun County is behind Escape Room Live Georgetown, which will have six rooms with a different movie theme: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, The Mummy, Titanic, Friday the 13th and a sixth room based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe.

It's an increasingly popular concept that caters toward friends, dates or even co-workers. And the venue doesn't take any half-measures: the new escape rooms boast "Hollywood-style sets" according to the company's website, which says the rooms are done in partnership with Paramount Studios and Columbia Pictures.
