The 35th annual Marine Corps Marathon will take place on October 31st. The race course will run through Georgetown. Residents should expect road closures from 7:30 a.m. through 10:45 a.m. Georgetowners are welcome to cheer along the runners as they work their way to 26.1 miles and the finish line!
Runners will come across the Key Bride, making a left turn onto M St. toward Canal Rd. Runners will follow Canal Rd. and then turn onto Foxhall Rd. to eventually make a right onto Reservoir Rd. The route circles around with a right on MacArthur Blvd. and runners making a right back onto Foxhall Rd. The course returns to Canal Rd., which runners follow until M St. From M the course makes a right onto Wisconsin Ave., a left onto K nd then leaves the area via Rock Creek Parkway.
