The evening features a discussion on Japanese design, led by woodworker Mira Nakashima. Continuing in her father George Nakshima's footsteps, Nakashima fully embraces her father's philosophy that "the woodworker's responsibility is to the tree itself, which has been sacrificed to live again in the woodworker's hands".

Since 1990, Nakashima has extended the tradition of her father's studio, the George Nakashima Studio, not only by producing classic and traditional lines, but by continuing the evolution of new design solutions by way of her new line, the Keisho Collection - keisho, meaning continuance or succession in Japanese.
Sushi and Japanese beverages will be served.
