Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Duende's Latin Jazz!
U Street, in Washington, DC's hottest jazz district, is the perfect place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year! Twins Jazz will host the globe trotting Duende Quartet. Duende is devoted to playing Latin Jazz in the style of Mongo Santamaria, Cal Tjader and Willie Bobo with a nod to the Blue Note sound of the’60’s.
The tunes on the May 5 program include Ellington's "African Flower," Cole Porter's "So in Love," a Rumba arrangement of "Afro Blue," and a unique arrangement of "Mrs. Robinson" with a bit of Led Zeppelin thrown in.
