Laura Simms: The Stories We Tell

Special Weekend Program with  Storyteller Laura Simms

Friday evening: “Rejoice! Regardless.”   A combination of personal narrative and riveting fairytale followed by discussion.

 Saturday and Sunday: Combining meditation practice, presencing, and reciprocity exercises with sound and image magic, Laura will lead us in a step-by-step discovery and creation of a single story (mythic and personal) to delve into the heart of what a story is.

 Laura Simms is a world renowned performing artist, writer, and activist.  She is a long-time student of Shambhala Buddhist study and practice and a teacher of Shambhala Arts.  Her focus is on storytelling as compassionate action in the world.  She recently performed at Rutgers University Center for Human Rights and Genocide Prevention in New Jersey, The Provincetown Theater in New York, St. George School in Rhode Island, and worked in Haiti with International Medical Corps (IMC).
