This talk introduces a very rare (One of twelve.) bear that was named "Frankie" due to the fact that his body and clothes are made from actual textile created by the famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright's birthday is June 8th. The vivid cloth appeared in ONLY one place, The Biltmore in Scottsdale, AZ as huge panels of draperies, but was going to be destroyed upon sale of the property. Come and hear "Frankie's Story" by the man who created him and how he is evolving into an icon that takes on the task much like that of "Smokey, The Bear", but, instead, is out to teach about and save America's art, design and architectural heritage. The two presentations are virtually identical. June 3rd is at the Wisconsin Avenue location of the Georgetown Market. The following Saturday it is at The Courthouse Market at Courthouse Metro. Both times are 1:00 PM. (There seems to be a 5 PM notice on line but it is ONE PM.) The bear's originial "adoption paper" and other documents are being shown. At least one other example item made from this textile is due to be shown. There will be some Wright things offered for sale. However, the exciting part is that the story is being offered in text form as "Frankie's Story" in an initial special Edition of 100, signed by Sean Chandler West who wrote it for Frankie (Although he does have a pencil in his paw.) You can also arrange to have the story as a gift to someone by adding a personalized message, birthday wish or other with a recipient's name and yours. MAKES AND EXCELLENT FATHER'S DAY GIFT! This is not just for kids. And, even have it shipped to you or other. E-mail SCWCollection@gmail.com between Monday AM and Friday PM for more information.
