The 4th Annual NEA Alternative Gift Fair is the only Washington, DC Alternative Gift Fair (AGF) this year. What is an Alternative Gift Fair? First, quickly write down three things you received for the holidays last year. Can you do it? Probably not. This is because they are just things that are given that really have no meaning or value to you. Why not put your money this year into a gift that actually does some good in the community, Country or World? That is where an AGF come in. We bring in local, national and international charities to one place and they sell "gifts". For example; $5 may buy a dozen socks for a homeless person, $15 may buy book for a child and $35 may buy a tent for a person in Haiti whose home was destroyed in the earthquake. These are just samples of some of the great gifts you can purchase that are 100% tax deductible. You receive a card that says what it was that you purchased and you give the card as gift. Perfect stocking stuffer, perfect for the person who really does not need anything, perfect for gifts for co-workers in your office. Check out http://NEA-agf.info for more informaiton. The site will be udated as we choose our non-profits that will be participating and put together our shopping list.
