Holiday Shopping With a Fundraising Twist!
What: A Capital Collection of Holiday Shops is the largest and oldest annual fundraiser of the Junior League of Washington. This three-day shopping event hosts dozens of merchants from around the country with a unique set of products that you cannot find elsewhere in the DC area. Merchants’ items include art, clothing, hostess gifts, sweets, toys, accessories, and household products. A small sample of merchants includes Gallery 1401, Altruette, Annie Wear children’s clothes & gifts, and Hugh & Crye menswear designers.
Proceeds from A Capital Collection provide financial support for the Junior League’s mission: promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Your support enables the Junior League to further its work of supporting literacy activities through community-based programs in the greater Washington metropolitan area.

Special Events:
The opening event this year, as in past years, is the Meg Graham Scholarship Breakfast. Proceeds from tickets for this event benefit the Meg Graham Scholarship that is awarded annually to a college-bound DC public school student who exemplifies a commitment to community service. This event is a great way to be the first into the show—doors will be open from 9:00 to 11:00am only for breakfast ticket holders!
The cocktail party on Friday evening, Belles and Beaus, features live and silent auctions in addition to shopping, music, hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails. Auction items include trips to New York and San Francisco, an MVP package of tickets and activities at Nationals Park, and spa treatments.
On Saturday, December 3, from 3:00 to 5:00pm, Neiman Marcus beauty consultants will be on hand at to provide beauty consultations and makeovers. There is no additional charge for this event, and it offers a great chance to get some shopping and makeup done in one stop.
Finally, Santa will be joining us on Sunday, December 4, from 12:00 to 3:00pm for pictures with the kids! Also, Junior League volunteers will be on hand to turn those pictures into your holiday cards if you so desire.
