'The Exorcist' Will Close Georgetown Summer Film Fest

The iconic horror film The Exorcist will be the final film tonight in its inaugural Georgetown Sunset Cinema series.

Georgetown Sunset Cinema this summer was Georgetown’s first-ever free outdoor movie experience, and kicked off earlier this summer at Georgetown Waterfront Park. The summer’s lineup featured movies filmed in or inspired by Georgetown.
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a picnic and blanket and enjoy the panoramic backdrop of the sunset, Potomac River and Key Bridge.

The Exorcist (1973), filmed in Georgetown, centers on a home at 3600 Prospect Street, located next to the now-infamous Exorcist steps. The 75 steps are a popular tourist attraction and a destination for fitness enthusiasts. The Exorcist will close the inaugural Georgetown Sunset Cinema series August 4.
