FBI Investigating Attempted Robbery of DC Bank
Two suspects entered the bank; after a note was handed to a teller, the two fled the bank on foot, the FBI said.

WASHINGTON, DC -- The FBI is investigating a bank robbery that took place Wednesday in Washington, DC.

The FBI said that two suspects entered the BB&T Bank, 3101 14th St. NW, Wednesday at 1:55 p.m., handed a note to a teller and fled the bank.
The FBI characterized the incident as an “attempted robbery.” The suspects fled on foot.

A description of the two suspects was provided by the FBI:
- The first subject was described as a Black male with a thin build, a dark complexion, short hair, and approximately 5’8” tall. He was described as wearing a black puffy jacket with a hood. The second subject was described as a Black male with a thin build, a dark complexion, long dreadlocks, and approximately 5’2” to 5’3” tall. He was described as wearing a white t-shirt and a black puffy jacket.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of these individuals.
The FBI/MPD Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating this attempted robbery and requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or MPD’s tip line at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the police department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
