FBI: Man Tried to Rob DC Bank Tuesday Morning

Incident took place Tuesday morning at bank on Connecticut Avenue.

A man attempted to rob a Washington, D.C. bank on Tuesday morning, according to the FBI.

The FBI said the suspect attempted to rob a Citibank branch at 5700 Connecticut Ave. Tuesday at 11:52 a.m.

The FBI described the suspect as a black man, between the ages of 40-50, and about 6 feet tall with a medium build. Police say he had a full beard and was wearing a blue and green sweater and blue jeans.

The subject entered the bank, approached the teller and passed the teller a note demanding money, according to the FBI. The subject then left the bank on foot, the FBI said.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this bank robber.

The FBI/Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating this robbery and requests that anyone with information call the FBI at 202-278-2000 or MPD’s tip line at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the police department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
