Fireworks Over the Potomac: 2015 Cherry Blossom Festival

DC-area residents are anxiously awaiting peak bloom for area cherry trees, expected Saturday, April 11-Tuesday, April 14.

In the meantime the National Cherry Blossom Festival is in full swing, including a fireworks show that took place Saturday evening at DC’s Southwest Waterfront.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival started March 20 and continues through Sunday, April 12.

In past years, festival events have celebrated the Japanese culture and included local high school performances. Area businesses have also participated with Cherry Blossom themed deals and events.
