Georgetown Candy Opens (Unofficially)

The candy store at 1417 Wisconsin Ave. is open, but still waiting on a few special treats before making a grand entrance onto the Georgetown scene.

Fan's of the iconic Dylan's Candy rejoice, Georgetown's own candy haven has opened its doors.

Georgetown Candy at 1417 Wisconsin Ave. is Georgetown's newest business. The store is full of natural light and full of color and offers an admirable assortment of candy sure to please locals with a sweet tooth.

The store is technically open; you can walk inside and purchase whatever you see. Officially, however, Georgetown Candy is not fully stocked, and the owner is awaiting a shipment of holiday treats before she welcomes a swarm of eager shoppers.

I overheard a bit of the conversation the owner and her assistant were having during a conference call with a candy distributor. It sounded like they were ordering a collection of "nostalgic" candy, so look out for some classic favorites when  the shop "officially" opens its doors.

Tentatively, they will be launching this Saturday, but there is a chance that will be postponed until the following Saturday if shipments do not arrive as planned.  Nonetheless, stop by 1417 Wisconsin Ave. and take a peek for yourself!
