Georgetown to Host Outdoor Movie Series at Waterfront Park This Summer

Georgetown's 2nd Annual Sunset Cinema outdoor movie series will run every Tuesday night until August.

Attention, cinephiles: Georgetown's 2nd Annual Sunset Cinema outdoor movie series is about to kick off, so grab your blankets and head to the Georgetown Waterfront Park starting this Tuesday.

The Georgetown Business Improvement District will be hosting these movies at sunset -- around 8:30 to 8:45 p.m. -- every Tuesday starting July 5 and running through Aug. 2, according to a statement from the Georgetown BID.

Be sure to bring a picnic (but no alcohol) to snack on while you're enjoying the warm evening air along the Potomac River. This year, the outdoor film series will honor the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service by showing a movie featuring a different national park area. Each evening will be from a different decade, starting with the 1960s this Tuesday, July 5 and ending with the 2000s on Aug 2.
