Georgetown Prep Headmaster Jeff Jones Dies
Jones, who led the school for the past nine years, passed away from heart complications.

Georgetown Preparatory School is reporting that Headmaster Jeffrey L. Jones has passed away. He was 61.
Jones, who had served as headmaster of the school for nearly a decade, planned to retire from the famous prep school at the end of this academic year, but health complications forced him to be hospitalized in December and transported to Los Angeles, according to a statement from the school. Jones, who had a mechanical heart installed in the spring as he waited for a heart transplant, died June 25 while surrounded by friends and family at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Jones announced his intention to retire in May 2015. He had served with Georgetown Prep for two decades, including the last nine as headmaster.
