Sietsema ladles out the compliments to Chef Frank Ruta, stating that the food served at The Grill Room is “some of the most sophisticated cooking in the region. Admirers of the chef will recognize his signature style on every plate: first-rate ingredients (gently) coaxed into memorable performances.” Sietsema gave the restaurant three out of four stars.
“One thing is clear,” Sietsema said in a story in The Post about the list. “Washington has never looked or tasted better.”
Ruta, a James Beard and Food & Wine Award-Winning Executive Chef, joined the Capella Washington, D.C., Georgetown team with more than 10 years of experience at the White House as the Executive Sous Chef.
“My classic cooking background and personal experiences have been the source for my creativity in the dishes I prepare,” Ruta says on the restaurant’s Web site. “My focus will be on cementing The Grill Room as a warm neighborhood dining experience with an evolving seasonal menu.”
