Georgetown has some fantastic parks -- but which ones should you visit this summer? We'll help you out.

It's summertime, which means it's time for outdoor fun. But where are the best places to go in Georgetown for your summer fun needs? Starting this week, we're highlighting the best Georgetown has to offer when it comes to public parks.

You'll need to head north of downtown to visit Montrose Park, which is located near Rock Creek at R Street NW between 28th and 32nd streets.

The park, which is owned by the federal government, offers a large children's play area along with two sets of tennis courts. You can also walk along trails in the park, which lead to Rock Creek Park.

The park is situated near Oak Hill Cemetery, a historic cemetery that includes the remains of notable people like Edwin Stanton, Secretary of War during the Civil War, and Phillip and Katharine Graham, former owners and publishers of the Washington Post.

Also located nearby is the historic Dumbarton House, which was completed in 1800 and gives visitors a sense of what life was like in the early years of the United States.
