Georgetown's Office of Sustainability Recognized by EPA
Georgetown was recognized side-by-side with Microsoft.

Georgetown University's newΒ Office of Sustainability wasΒ one of four entities nationwide named by theΒ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as aΒ Green Power Partner of the Year.
Georgetown was noted in particular forΒ purchasing about 113 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy and for establishing theΒ Solar StreetΒ renewable energy project.
βOur use of green power has been growing over the past few years as sustainability and clean energy have become an even stronger value and critical part of our sustainability effort, and EPA has recognized us along the way,β says Audrey Stewart, director of the sustainability office, in a press release.
The three other winnersΒ are Cisco Systems, Inc., the Microsoft Corporation and Ohio State University.
