Gin Dance Company Presents 'Inner Voice'

This intriguing and uplifting performance will premier Artistic Director Shu-Chen Cuff's newest works 'Hello! Goodbye!' and 'Zoom In'.

This fall Gin Dance Company (GDC) will be presenting ‘Inner Voice’ at THEARC Theater at 4 pm on October 23 and we are thrilled to be joined by our guest company DancEthos! For this production, we are excited to be featuring GDC’s original works and premiering Shu-Chen’s newest work ‘Hello! Goodbye!’ and ‘Zoom In’ which will be performed by our guest company DancEthos (DE). With the exponential use of technology, there is becoming so much information and tension in our daily lives. Shu-Chen created ‘Zoom In’ as a means to flush out distractions from social media and bring back the focus to a clear mind. Tiffany Haughn, Artistic Director of DE has also choreographed a new work on GDCs Artists entitled ‘1 by 1’ which is an exploration of the herd mentality concept and displays how people tend to blindly follow without much consideration. The performance also features GDC’s critically acclaimed and audience favorite signature pieces ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘Solitaire’. The show will close with a delightful new work - ‘Hello! Goodbye!’, a contemporary ballet in which Shu-Chen was inspired by the artist Mary Ann Mears’s dynamic sculpture ‘Reston Rondo’ which is installed at Hyatt Park, the gateway to the Reston Town Center. ‘Hello! Goodbye!’ takes a humorous, cheerful, and whimsical look at the role of the ‘Reston Rondo.’ It’s sure to be a refreshing, inspiring, and energizing performance. More information: www.gindance.org
