The Glover Park Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC3B) candidate list is now complete. Five candidates submitted petitions to the Board of Election and Ethics (BOEE) in time to meet the Aug. 8 deadline. Each is running unopposed.
Three of the five candidates are current sitting members of the ANC. The newcomers are Mary Young, who is running for single member district number four, and Joe Fiorillo, who is running for the seat once held by his late wife Cathy and currently held by Ben Thielen. Thielen is not seeking reelection for SMD01. Commissioner Howie Kreitzman, who represented the Cathedral Heights neighborhood of SMD04, resigned in July because of a planned moved to New York.
No other candidates will appear on the ballot. A write-in candidate is always a possibility, but not a likelihood.
