Gondola Plans Taking Flight Between Rosslyn and Georgetown?

DC spending plan includes $35,000 to study idea.

Could the idea of a gondola bringing people to and from Rosslyn and Georgetown fly? It’s a concept that Georgetown Business Improvement District President Joe Sternlieb has floated in the past, after seeing them in action in Portland, Ore.

Now, the DC City Council has budgeted $35,000 to study the gondola idea, in a spending plan proposed last week, the Washington Post reports.

The Georgetown BID has raised $130,000 for a $200,000 study and is hoping Arlington County will also chip in.
