Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary Celebration in Georgetown

Two events scheduled at Gypsy Sally's this weekend.

Live music venue Gypsy Sally’s is offering a fun and unique way to spend the 4th of July weekend by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead. The venue is located at 3401 K St. NW.

On Friday, July 3rd, enjoy a special appearance by D.C.’s own Grateful Dead tribute band, Beggars Tomb, as they play renditions of classic Grateful Dead tunes. Doors open at 5, show is at 8 p.m.

Plus, on Saturday, July 4th, Gypsy Sally’s will show the official simulcast of Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of the Grateful Dead with a live video cable broadcast of the Soldier Field shows in Chicago, featuring Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir as they reunite nearly 20 years to the day from the last Grateful Dead concert, which took place at the same venue. Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Drink specials will be available and guests can easily step outside to catch the fireworks from the Georgetown Waterfront and Key Bridge.
