Gumbo Lover Leaves Jumbo Tip: $2,000 on $93 Bill: Report

A fan of D.C. restaurant Blue 44’s gumbo gave a jumbo tip on Monday, according to a report by Washington, D.C. Eater.

The tip of $2,000 was left on a bill of $93. The patron, who prefers to remain anonymous and is described as a regular, scribbled “Thank you for gumbo!” on his check, Eater reports.

“We love our regulars and last night one was so generous....we are speechless!” Blue 44 tweeted out on Wednesday.

Blue 44 is located at 5507 Connecticut Ave. and is owned and operated by Christofer Nardelli. Chef James Turner helms the kitchen.
