Historic Halcyon House Sells

Among the most expensive homes in the city, Halcyon House snagged a buyer this week.

Halcyon House at 3400-3410 Potomac St. has sold, reports Urban Turf. The Washington Fine Properties website indicates that the property is under contract. The buyer and sale price are unknown.

Just two weeks ago, the listing price dropped $2.5 million to $12.5 million for the 30,000 square foot home.

The historic home was originally built in 1787 for Benjamin Stoddert, the first Secretary of the Navy and namesake of the Glover Park elementary school. Since that time several additions have been added to expand the scope of the home which overlooks the Key Bridge and the Potomac River.
