City Health Department officials confirmed Tuesday that the individual had been diagnosed in January, according to NBC Washington.
The case is reportedly due to overseas travel, and not due to an outbreak in 14 states following exposure reported at Disneyland in California, according to Fox Washington.

Michael Czin, a spokesman for Mayor Muriel Bowser, told The Washington Post that the incident is “isolated,” but the mayor encourages residents to get vaccinated against the disease.
