It's National Donut Day 2016 Tomorrow -- And There's a New Donut Shop in Georgetown

Unfortunately, the pop-up shop will be closed tomorrow in advance of its Tuesday Grand Opening.

Doughnut or donut? It doesn't matter how you spell the tasty baked treat, because Friday, June 3 is a day to celebrate it with the 2016 National Donut Day -- and Georgetown has one exciting new option for you to get your fix. But you better get there today, because it won't be open tomorrow.

That's right, District Doughnut has just opened up a new pop-up shop at 3327 Cady's Alley in Georgetown, and they're open today until they sell out. However, they'll be shutting down for National Donut Day in preparation for their grand opening on Tuesday, June 7.

"Georgetown soft opening #2 is ON at 8AM today until sellout! Come see our new pop up and enjoy a doughnut and cappuccino," District Doughnut said on their Facebook page. "After today, our pop up will be closed until next Tuesday's full opening, so come visit!"

The popular donut shop has been a staple of the Barracks Row neighborhood for years, and has been named by national publications as one of the best places to get a donut.

The pop-up shop has similar offerings to what you can find in its flagship shop, as well as espresso coffee through partner Compass Coffee. District Doughnuts offers gourmet donuts made from scratch, including such flavors as dulce de leche, brown butter and cannoli.
