KStreetKate Shares Her Secrets for Success

Model, Talk Show Host, and New Media Personality Kate Michael Posts Video about Her Mobile Technology

DC personality, K Street Kate, aka @theauthentikate, wears a lot of hats: writer, model, talk show host, new media personality... and has her “go to” list of essentials that help her survive the day. The one tool, however, she finds absolutely indispensable is her smartphone.

From the moment she wakes up, to the moment her head hits the pillow at night, her phone is her window to the world and the thing that connects her to all she wants to do for both work and play.

It’s the first thing she reaches for in the morning as its preset chirpy alert stirs her awake -- snooze not allowed! She always checks the weather on WeatherBug, consults her calendar and taps onto ClassPass to look for the closest gym or exercise option, Georgetown’s Barre3 being a favorite. Once her workout is out of the way, she uses her smartphone and the easy-to-use app Pretty Quick to find a nearby salon to get her hair, nails or makeup done, with the Wisconsin Avenue Luigi Parasmo salon a favorite.

A huge part of Kate’s day revolves around staying connected through social media. She uses so many different apps to engage with followers, like Periscope, Twitter and, of course, Instagram to post selfies and to let friends and fans take part in her adventures, from deciding on which events to cover to helping her choose an outfit to wear. She often uses PicStitch app to crowdsource reviews, like when she’s shopping @JuliaFarr.

Over the course of the day, she relies on Verizon’s network to get where she needs to be, either looking up driving directions, using apps like Curb, or navigating public transportation. For transportation assistance alone, she thinks the smartphone -- and Verizon’s coverage -- might be the 20th century’s best invention!

We live in a world where the demands on our time can often be overwhelming. And for K Street Kate, her smartphone is what keeps her connected to all that matters. #myverizonlife.
