Labor Day Weather: Threat of Storms Sunday and Monday

The National Weather Service issues hazardous weather alert for region.

Severe weather may impact some of the end-of-summer fun this Labor Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected late Sunday afternoon and evening, according to the NWS.

“Some thunderstorms may be severe, with the main threats of damaging winds, large hail and localized flash flooding,” according to the NWS.

The local forecast for Sunday includes a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., with a 60 percent of showers Sunday night.

There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon on Labor Day and continuing into the early evening before becoming mostly clear after 9 p.m.
