TODAY: Ladurèe Opens First DC Location In Georgetown

The ultra-famous macaron bakery Ladurèe will open in Georgetown this week.

GEORGETOWN, DC — Georgetown residents won't have to travel far to try a macaron from the iconic French luxury bakery Ladurèe. The bakery's first DC location will debut May 2, and they chose the heart of Georgetown to open up shop.

Dating back to 1862, Ladurèe is one of the world's best-known macaron sellers. Dessert-lovers can try a variety of macarons, including coffee, rose petal, pistachio, vanilla, chocolate, lemon, orange blossom and more. They can also snack on breakfast and lunch options like fruits, yogurts, tea, omelettes, soups, sandwiches and salads.

According to Eater DC, the 1,110-square-foot Ladurèe store is at 3060 M Street NW., where the old Ritz Camera used to be. The store includes a tea room and a boutique, plus fancy interior decorations hand-picked from France.
