Live and Work, But Don't Forget to Play

The other night I asked my husband, “Am I just really immature? Because I have WAY too much fun with the boys!” As we have our nightly dance party – wait, are they really singing Justin Timberlake and beat boxing??? Yes, yes they are.  My husband reminded me to enjoy these moments while they last.  I was reminded of something my mom always told me.  All the things we get distracted with on a daily basis – work, cooking, cleaning, and the other million responsibilities moms have – can wait; because those precious moments with our kids won’t last.  I take that to heart and try to remember it everyday. It’s through my playtime with them that I’ve discovered their strengths, humor, and creativity. But most importantly, I’ve watched my relationship and bond with them grow. It’s possible this closeness is due to other factors, but I believe this time together brings us closer and closer. So with all this being said, after my question to my husband, I quickly concluded that my kids are just awesome, and there’s nothing else I’d rather be than immature with them.
