Aveda (1325 Wisconsin Ave. NW) - Aveda Georgetown has selected WomenHeart, a nonprofit dedicated to the health and quality of life of women with or at risk for heart disease, as its beneficiary during February in recognition of American Heart Month. Join the kick-off event at on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. WomenHeart will be providing women’s heart health education information and there will be an appearance by Starr Mirza, a young woman who is living with heart disease. Aveda Georgetown will donate $10 to WomenHeart for every customer who purchases a product, or who has a salon or spa appointment during the entire month of February.

Bacchus Wine Cellar (1635 Wisconsin Ave. NW) - On Saturday, February 14, Bacchus Wine Cellar is offering free afternoon tastings of its most romantic tipples - ruby rosés and sparkling diamond bubblies. Guests craving something a little more sensual will enjoy A “Zin”sational Pairing. The sweet experience, $50, features a flight of three, smoky, Colombian dark chocolates paired with the a bottle of the soft, velvety texture and black pepper spice of 2012 Ministry of the Vinterior Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi, California. Enter Cupid’s Communal Table, offered on Valentine’s Day, as well as on Fridays throughout the month of February. The special dining event series aims at bringing singles together over a shareable, family-style dinner by the fire in the hotel’s chic and romantic Living Room. Perfect for singles, friends, or small groups of up to 8 people, Cupid’s Communal Table gives guests the opportunity to mix and mingle in the comfort of the hotel’s Living Room which offers a warm and inviting place to meet someone new with its dramatic wood-burning fireplace, cozy lounge seating, and soaring exposed brick walls. Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place (3000 K St. NW) - Enjoy a romantic night at Washington Harbour. For $89 per couple, you and your loved one can enjoy Tony & Joe’s ‘Chilled Seafood Tower’ package, which offers a wide selection of seafood dishes including two one-pound lobsters, four jumbo shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, crab cocktail, six oysters on the half shell, six top neck clams on the half shell and two split bottles of prosecco. Tudor Place (1644 31st St. NW) - Celebrate love and creativity at Tudor Place! On Saturday, February 14 at 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., children will tour the historic mansion in search of historic Valentine’s Day cards from the Tudor Place Archive. These cards then serve as inspiration for their own Valentine’s card creations to take home. Each session lasts an hour; adults accompany their children (ages 5+) free. More information here.
Via Umbria (1525 Wisconsin Ave. NW) - Switch out the usual restaurant experience and instead enjoy a unique, authentic four-course Umbrian-themed Italian meal and wine pairing. Via Umbria welcomes acclaimed Umbrian winemaker Roberto Di Filippo for an intimate and private winemakers dinner featuring the wines of Di Filippo and Plani Arche. With Roberto sharing stories about his life in Umbria, the role of food and wine in his culture and how his wines pair with certain foods, Via Umbria’s Valentine’s Wine Dinner is an experience not to be missed. The dinner will feature all Umbrian dishes (strictly no northern or southern Italian foods) with passed appetizers, followed by the four-course sit-down of salad, primi (traditionally pasta or grain), secondo (traditionally a meat), and a dessert.
