Luke's Lobster Opens Today in Georgetown
The sandwich shop will open at 1211 Potomac St., NW.
Luke's Lobster officially opens in Georgetown today at 1211 Potomac St., NW.
The two story clapboard building was briefly Go Fresh, but more infamously was Philly Pizza, whose hoards of drunk pizza-eaters were the source of constant frustration for neighbors.
The Georgetown location marks the third in D.C. and ninth overall location for the Maine lobster roll eatery founded by Georgetown University 2007 graduate Luke Holden.

In a press release about the store opening, the company waxes nostalgic about the Georgetown location, "the whitewashed clapboard house at 1211 looks as though it was transplanted directly from a Maine lobster dock."
The interior will feature lobster gear from Holden's old 20s boat he built in high school in Maine where his father, once a lobsterman, now owns a shellfish processing business that provides the fresh chunks of lobster meat for Luke's Lobster.
