Person Fatally Struck by Train Near Union Station

Metro honored MARC train tickets Thursday.

MARC train service from DC to Baltimore was suspended Thursday morning after a person was fatally struck just north of Union Station, according to a report by The Washington Post and CBS.

Riders checked the latest advisories at Maryland Department of Transportation.

The Maryland Transit Authority sent out an alert: ”All MARC Train service is suspended at this time due to police activity just north of the Washington terminal. Metro is honoring MARC tickets. Updates will follow as it becomes available.”

The MTA sent out its first alert around 9:30 a.m.:

“Train 414 (9:30 am DC departure) is still stopped just north of Union Station due to police activity, severe delays expected. Train 425 (9:25am Baltimore departure) is holding at New Carrollton. Metro is honoring MARC tickets.”
