Mason Inn Proposes Rooftop Deck
The Glover Park ANC wants community input on the proposed rooftop deck for the Wisconsin Avenue sports bar.

Glover Park's Mason Inn has proposed adding a rooftop deck with a bar and the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC3B) wants public input on whether it should support the proposal. The new space would accommodate 48 people, the bar and several small tables.
The Mason Inn, a sports bar located at 2408 Wisconsin Ave. NW, opened in Glover Park in 2011.
The rooftop space was designed by Studio 3877 Architecture, the team behind the new Matchbox Restaurant on 14th Street NW.

The proposed hours for the rooftop bar are the same as those for the existing inside bar:
- Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Monday through Friday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
Several residences border the rear of the Mason Inn and, according to the ANC, the was a noise complaint filed by a neighbor in April.

The Mason Inn is contesting that noise violation, which was levied by the ABC Board for "music that could be heard inside a 37th street residence at 2 a.m. with the windows closed, as certified by an ABRA investigator," according to the ANC. Hyperlocal Glover Park reports the show cause hearing for the resulting $250 fine is Feb. 20.
Prior to the ANC 3B meeting Jan. 10 you may submit your comments to info@anc3b.org. Additionally, any formal protest to the application before the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) must be filed on or prior to the petition date, Jan. 28. The ABRA hearing is planned for Feb. 11.
