Mayfair and Pine Closes in Glover Park

Chef Emily Sprissler and her husband and business partner Jason Cote have called it quits for their restaurant Mayfair & Pine in Glover Park less than a year after it opened.

“We weren’t getting enough butts in seats,” Sprissler told The Washington Post.

Commenters on the Glover Park neighborhood listserv had mixed emotions about the closure. Many said they had never been, some said they thought the menu was lacking, others lamented the toughness of the restaurant industry in the neighborhood.

Sprissler told The Washington Post that she is in talks with a few out-of-town restaurant groups about her former restaurant space at 2218 Wisconsin Ave. NW.
