Owner Kanchan Singh has raised $35,881 using a Kickstarter campaign. She was only going for $15,000.
All cats at the cat cafe will be from the Washington Humane Society and up for adoption, Singh says in a video accompanying her pitch on Kickstarter. Singh notes that she became interested in starting her own cat cafe after celebrating her 24th birthday at a cat cafe in Thailand.
