Metro Off-Loads Passengers at McPherson Square After Brake Issue

Initial reports were of smoke, spokeswoman says.

Metro passengers at the McPherson Square stop in DC were evacuated Thursday morning from a Metro train, due to a brake issue, according to Metro spokeswoman Sherri Ly.

“We did have a train that experienced a brake issue and there were some residual delays and the fire department was notified,” she said.

“Initially it came in as a report of smoke but there was no issue,” Ly said.
