Metro Stations Closed, Buses Replace Trains: May 4-5
Taking the Metro this weekend? Plan accordingly: stations will be closed; buses will replace trains; and a line will single-track.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: Around the World Embassy Tour, Running of the Chihuahuas, and the Second Annual Rosé Tasting.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, May 4 or Sunday, May 5, you should plan accordingly: some stations will be closed; buses will replace trains on certain lines; and a line will be single-tracking. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:
Red Line trains will operate every 18 minutes between Glenmont and Shady Grove. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. this weekend, trains will run every 9 minutes between Silver Spring and Friendship Heights. Due to rail work, trains will single-track between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore.

Shuttle buses will replace Blue Line trains between Franconia-Springfield and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Trains will only operate on a regular weekend schedule between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Largo Town Center.
This weekend on the Blue Line, Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King St-Old Town, and Braddock Road stations will be closed.

Free shuttle bus information can be found below:
- A Blue Line shuttle bus will run between Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, King St-Old Town, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
- The shuttle will not stop at Braddock Road station
- Riders traveling to and from Braddock Road must take a Yellow Line shuttle bus
- Riders should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each station stop
Shuttle buses will replace Yellow Line trains between Huntington and Crystal City. From 7 to 11:15 a.m., and from 2 to 7 p.m., on Saturday, trains will only run between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Mt. Vernon Square. Sunday trains will operate between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Fort Totten.
This weekend on the Yellow Line, Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King St-Old Town, and Braddock Road stations will be closed.

- A Yellow Line shuttle bus will operate between Huntington, Eisenhower Avenue, King St-Old Town, Braddock Road, and Crystal City
- The shuttle bus will not stop at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport
- Riders traveling to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport should take the Blue Line shuttle
- Riders should allow 15 minutes of travel time for each station stop
The Green, Silver, and Orange lines will run on a regular weekend schedule.
