MidCity Dog Days Will Be Both Virtual, In Person Aug. 8-9

This annual D.C. event has drawn upwards of 20,000 people to the 14th and U streets corridors.

GEORGETOWN, MD — Make plans to attend MidCity Dog Days sidewalk sale Aug. 8-9 both virtually and in-person this year. Georgetown Main Street has teamed up with several other community-based organizations for virtual shopping opportunities and small businesses across the city setting up shop outside of their store.

For more than 20 years, business owners along the 14th and U streets corridors have endured the "dog days of summer" to create a sidewalk sale with more than 100 local retailers and restaurants participating. Historically, MidCity Dog Days has drawn more than 20,000 visitors to the neighborhood. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's event will look different.

As part of this year's event, Carpe Librum also will be hosting a Pop-Up Book Shop Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Chase Bank parking lot at Wisconsin & P St. Sales will benefit the D.C. nonprofit Turning the Page. Visit the DC Dog Days website for more information and to view participating retails, restaurants and other entities.
