N2 Changes Restore Connection to Tenelytown Starting Sunday

Metro officials reversed changes made in September without community input that cut out the Tenleytown loop.

Starting Sunday, Jan. 22, the N2 bus will return to its previous route, which includes a connection between Cathedral Avenue and Tenleytown, after made in September.

In September, metro changed the N2 bus line to be almost identical to the N4 route except for a detour from Massachusetts Avenue along Nebraska, New Mexico and Cathedral Avenues. According to a press release issued at the time, the changes were "intended to enhance reliability, improve connections with Metrorail service and match ridership demand."

But after a , Metro officials determined that it would be possible and prudent to return the N2 to the previous route.

After that decision, Brian Cohen, the chair of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3B, told Patch,  "We are gratified that WMATA addressed our community's concerns and fixed their mistake. N2 bus riders will be thrilled that the route will once again take them to Tenleytown and Friendship Heights"
