National Association of Secondary School Principals Holds DC Event to Launch New Programs for National Honor Society Members
Organization Debuts National Awareness Campaign to Help Students Prepare Early for College, Career and Life
Yesterday, the National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) gathered education leaders and students in Washington, D.C. to announce the launch of new programs and services for student members and their advisers during the 2015-2016 academic year.
The new programs aim to help students prepare for college and a future of success. These include an expanded NHS scholarship program that will double the total money awarded to $500,000 in 2015 and up to $2 million within the next four years to reach more students than ever before, as well as a scholarship search tool for members as part of a partnership with national education nonprofit Get Schooled. Other resources announced include a college admissions support program featuring a series of webinars and Twitter town halls to give students the chance to learn directly from college admissions officials about topics like the application process, financial aid and college fit.
