New Farm Stand Coming To Georgetown Every Saturday

A new farm stand is coming to Georgetown every Saturday, featuring locally grown items from Jason Gross of Hillside Meadow Farm.

GEORGETOWN, DC — The countryside is coming to the city beginning July 29, with FRESHFARM to hold a farm stand every Saturday in Georgetown. (Subscribe to Georgetown Patch to stay up to date with all local news.)

In partnership with Sweetgreen, FRESHFARM will hold a farm stand from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday in the new Sweetgreen parking lot off of Grace Street at 1044 Wisconsin Ave.

The farm stand will feature locally grown items from Jason Gross of Hillside Meadow Farm, which is a fourth generation, family operated farm in Glenville, Pennsylvania, according to the Georgetown Business District.

Hillside Meadow Farm owns 137 acres of woods, pastures and tillable ground. They market all of their products at various Farmer's Markets throughout Maryland and Virginia. Residents can expect a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, along with pasture-raised, antibiotic free and hormone-free meats including beef, lamb and chicken.

FRESHFARM is a non-profit that encourages sustainable agriculture and improves food access across the Mid-Atlantic Region.
