New French Bakery Opening Soon in Georgetown

The high-end Boulangerie Christophe could be opening soon based on a recently issued permit, according to a report.

A permit has been issued for a new French bakery that will move into a storefront on Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown. Boulangerie Christophe, which will seat 67 people on the first floor and 32 on the second floor, will be moving into 1422 Wisconsin Avenue NW, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

The storefront has had "coming soon" signs advertising the arrival of Boulangerie Christophe for months now. It will be next door to M&T Bank, according to Popville.

Not much appears to be known about the bakery yet, aside from the fact that it is locally owned and will be a high-end establishment.

A listing by Neighborhood Retail Group listed the anticipated opening as Spring of 2016, but the restaurant has obviously been delayed from that target. The permit could indicate the wait will soon be over, however, and at the very least the restaurant is making progress toward opening.
