GEORGETOWN, DC — Shop Made in DC — a retail space that's home to District-based designers, artists, and makers — has opened its third pop-up store in Georgetown.

Located at 1242 Wisconsin Ave. NW, this boutique features 100 local products — everything from skincare to home decor. It takes over the space formerly occupied by Max Studio and shares a block with Ralph Lauren and Madewell.

Wisconsin Avenue is one of several major shopping corridors in Georgetown, and is home to a variety of high-end stores and popular restaurants. But in recent years, big name brands like Zara and Karen Millen have closed down as other shopping corridors, like M Street, became more competitive.

Shop Made in DC co-owner Stacey Price hopes her store will make Georgetown more local.

"We're trying to make Wisconsin Avenue a little more local," Price, who owns the business along with Michael Babin, told DCist. "Our growth philosophy is to go where the people are. I want local to be in the mall of the city."

Everything Shop Made in DC sells is, of course, local. So, it's no surprise that the space's interior was created by local artists. Inside, you'll find a window mural and five mini art gallery walls.

Shop Made in DC opened in Georgetown on Tuesday, Aug. 1, but will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Aug. 3. Events are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
