Georgetown Adds Business Experts to Help Grow Economy
The Georgetown Business Improvement District is expanding with two new key planning positions.

The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) is approaching the future growth and sustainability of Georgetown like a government would, by bringing on experts to lead the way. The BID created and recently hired for two new positions - a transportation director and economic development director.
Jonathon Kass joined the BID as transportation director and Joshua Hermias signed on as economic development director.
“We are thrilled to have both of these talented professionals join our Georgetown BID team,” said CEO Joe Sternlieb in a press release. “Each of them will help us strengthen the Georgetown economy, and the way people experience Georgetown.”

Kass comes to Georgetown from being a key staff member on transportation policy and oversight for the DC Council, according to a BID press release. He'll put his experience to work looking at transportation issues ranging from a new streetcar line to parking.
Hermias was most recently at Georgetown University and is tasked with conducting research on the local economy, among other responsibilities, according to the BID.
