Presse Bookstore Closed Suddenly Oct. 7

According to a post at just after 9 a.m. on Oct. 7 on the Presse Bookstore Facebook page, the store permanently closed that same day. The store, located at 1614 Wisconsin Ave., offered a selection of books and a wide range of events from chats with authors to french meet ups.

"I'll really miss the friendly chats and French and Spanish dicussions with all of my favorite customers and colleagues at Presse," Presse owner Harvetta Asamoah said in the note.

According to the brief post, the store will be moving online and will carry-on as "a new, better, web-based bookstore." The store's website continues to list events; the next one on Oct. 23 will take place at Puro Cafe.

In a small sidebar on the right hand side a note under "Store Hours" merely  states, "Presse is no longer located at 1614 Wisconsin Ave., NW." And just like that another small bookstore closes shop in Georgetown.
