Rally Against Addiction Bringing Steven Tyler, Sheryl Crow, to D.C. Area
The popular artists will play in a free concert on the National Mall meant to raise awareness of addiction across the country.

A star-studded lineup of musical artists is coming to D.C. in October to stand up to addiction in all its forms.
Headlined by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and popular singer Sheryl Crow, these artists will perform at an event titled “UNITE to Face Addiction,” which will take place for free on the National mall on Sunday, Oct. 4.
The event is sponsored by a relatively new national organization called Facing Addiction that “will serve as a voice for the over 85 million Americans imputed by addiction,” according to its website.

The concert will be part of a larger rally on the National Mall that will include 450 different organizations from across the country coming together to bring awareness to, and in the process help fight against, addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
Tyler and Crow will be joined by Joe Walsh of popular rock band The Eagles, John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Jason Isbell, popular band The Fray, and more. Inspirational speakers will play a role in the all-day event, as will other celebrities and elected officials who will advocate others to help spread awareness of addiction.

“UNITE to Face Addiction will mark the first time our nation will collectively stand up to addiction, a health problem that impacts 1 in 3 households,” Greg Williams, co-founder of Facing Addiction and a person in long-term recovery, said in a news release promoting the event. “Twenty-two million Americans are currently suffering from a substance use disorder, and more than 23 million others are living in recovery. When you include the families of the afflicted, addiction impacts over 85 million people – we all know somebody. It’s not ‘those’ people, it’s all of us.”
