Video Emerges of Shooting in Northeast that Left 2 Officers Injured, Suspect Dead
Police say the officers were shot in the lower body and are expected to survive.

WASHINGTON, DC — Video has emerged of an incident in which two D.C. police officers were shot and a suspect killed in Northeast late Thursday night. You can view the video below.
The shooting happened in the 1400 block of Morse Street NE at around 10:40 p.m. Police say the two male officers were shot in their lower bodies and the injuries were not considered life threatening. Police returned fire on the man who pulled the trigger, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The officers were responding to a report of shots fired earlier that day, according to Interim D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham.

Police are still trying to piece together what happened, as Newsham noted they hadn't been able to interview the two officers in the hospital yet.
