Special Election Draws Near, What You Need to Know
The D.C. special election will take place Tuesday, April 26.

Georgetown residents are eligible to cast a ballot in the April 26 special election for At Large Member of the Council, the seat vacated by Chairman of the District Council Kwame Brown. During the interim, Sekou Biddle has filled the slot in the 13-member legislative body.
Below is a list of important dates between now and election day as well as a complete list of candidates including contact information and updated information on any challenges to candidate petitions.
March 28: Last day for registration-by-mail and to update any errors in your voter information online.

April 4: Last day for receipt of timely completed non-postmarked voter registration applications and registration update notifications
April 11-25: Early voting begins with in-person absentee ballots at One Judiciary Square. Voting is possible from Monday through Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Exception: Monday, April 25 voting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

April 19: Last day for Board to receive written requests from registered voters for absentee ballots by mail.
April 26: Election Day! Vote between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. at your precinct of residence.
